During the Covid-19 and thereafter, regular notifications have been issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Government has tried to build a private-public partnership so as to streamline the CSR funding into tackling the pandemic and to bring the society out from the aftereffects of the pandemic and to bring the economy in the growth trajectory.
As per Notification issued by Ministry of Corporate Affairs dated 22nd January 2021, from April 1, 2021 CSR Funding will be released only to that NGOs, that are registered with MCA by filing Form CSR-1.
Following type of NGO’s are eligible to file Form CSR-1 on MCA Portal for getting CSR Funding:
- Company established under section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 with section 12A and section 80G registrations under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Registered Public Trust with section 12A and section 80G registrations under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Registered Society with section 12A and section 80G registrations under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Company established under section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 or Registered Trust or Registered Society established by the Central Government or State Government.
- Entity established under an Act of Parliament or State Legislature.”
- The entity has to file Form CSR-1 electronically with the Registrar. This provision is made applicable with effect from the 01st day of April 2021.
Form CSR-1 shall be signed and submitted electronically by the entity on the MCA portal and shall be verified digitally by a Chartered Accountant in practice or a Company Secretary in practice or a Cost Accountant in practice.
Following documents are required for filing Form CSR-1
- Copy of PAN Card of the NGO/Entity
- Mail ID of entity
- Mail ID and Mobile Number of authorized representatives of NGO
- Details of Governing Body Members including their Name, DIN/PAN and Email ids.
- Copy of Registration Certificate
- Digital Signature of the Authorized Person with his DIN/PAN Number
So, if you want CSR Funding then it is mandatory for you to get registered with MCA by Filing Form CSR-1 as soon as possible. And Form CSR-1 is now available for Filing on MCA Portal.
Form CSR-1 on the portal, a unique CSR Registration Number shall be generated by the system automatically.
